Miyamoto: Game designers should be looking at humans not polygons

Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto has stated that game designers of today are becoming too focused on polygon counts and instead should be looking at humans for inspiration. He elaborated on this by saying "the trend is often for concentrating on pushing graphics, or other capabilities, or network features in new games…But I like to think that game designers would be better off trying to think about things such as health or mental improvement, rather than technology itself.”
